Established in 1991, Nevada Public Education Foundation serves as a catalyst for quality education statewide and leverages resources and partnerships to help Nevada’s youth become “ready for life” as well as re-engaging those who prematurely left school. As an intermediary organization, Nevada Public Education Foundation convenes local, regional and statewide organizations doing similar work to maximize resources and effort; seeks to consistently measure and improve programs and services; and organizes public and private support to sustain the work and ensure that young people receive the education and resources they need to become productive, contributing members of society.
Our Mission
Nevada Public Education Foundation’s mission is to secure and sustain resources that will assist, support and promote excellence in public education programs in Nevada. NPEF operates under the guiding principle that young people can become “ready for life” through successful transitions at each developmental stage during their educational careers in Nevada and beyond. As an intermediary organization, Nevada Public Education Foundation works toward systemic change by convening community and state efforts to ensure all youth are “ready for life.”

Theory of Action
Nevada Public Education Foundation acts on the theory that Nevada’s youth are more likely to succeed in school and become “ready for life” when communities collaborate in support of youth. An effective intermediary organization facilitates this collaboration by convening and connecting public and private organizations and by leveraging partnerships and resources to improve outcomes for local youth.
Intermediary Role
As a statewide intermediary organization, Nevada Public Education Foundation:
- Connects schools, communities, government agencies, workplace partners, non-profits and youth organizations to improve outcomes for youth.
- Convenes local, regional and statewide organizations doing similar work to maximize resources and effort.
- Seeks to consistently measure and improve programs and services.
- Organizes public and private support to sustain the work and ensure young people receive the education and resources they need to become productive, contributing members of society.
