Margaret Clancy

Margaret Clancy’s tireless dedication to public education is an inspiration. For many years, Ms. Clancy contributed to the well- being of students at Traner Middle School, by organizing clothing drives for students, providing scholarships for extra-curricular activities, and organizing holiday gift donations. In addition, she coordinated the “Look at me Now” mentoring program with the Northern Nevada Women’s Lawyers Association.

The vital work Margaret does goes far beyond the school grounds. Margaret put it this way: "I know most of the families in this neighborhood very well because I grew up in northeast Reno myself, and I still live here today. I feel the kids can trust me to tell them what is right and what is wrong. One night, a parent came by my home at 10:30 at night screaming that her daughter was missing. I jumped out of bed and was out until 3:00 a.m. that morning looking for her with the police. She came home the next day, and we all lit into her, but I feel good knowing that these parents feel comfortable enough to know they can come to me anytime, day or night, if they need help with their child."
