For over 50 years, Thalia Dondero has contributed to the public education system in Nevada. Since she moved to Nevada in 1943, she has contributed to the PTA on a local and state level. For years she was active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Las Vegas High School Booster Club. In 1974, Ms. Dondero was the first woman elected to serve on the Clark County Board of Commissioners, and she served in this role for 20 years. In 1996, she was elected to the Nevada System of Higher Education’s Board of Regents, where she has served as Chair for two terms. She is currently the chair of the Investment Committee and serves on the Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committees. Ms. Dondero’s tireless work for youth has paved the path for future generations of Nevadans.
